TransTenna and TransTenna Pro software programs were written to make impedance
transformation calculations on transmission lines easy and quick to perform. It can
be used in place of the Smith Chart to make these calculations.
This allows the user to make an impedance measurement at one end of a transmission line
with a SWR analyzer or other impedance measuring equipment and then calculate the
impedance at the opposite end of that transmission line.
For example, a SWR analyzer may be used to measure the series resistance and reactance
at the transmitter end of a transmission line. This data is then entered into the
TransTenna main worksheet. Next, the transmission line properties and frequency of
operation are entered into the worksheet. The software will then calculate and display
the series resistance and reactance at the opposite end of the transmission line.
This provides an easy method of determining the feed point impedance of an antenna
while it is in it's operating location.
TransTenna MFJ is an enhancement for the popular MFJ-259B, MFJ-259C and MFJ-269 SWR Analyzers.
It adds a serial port to the SWR Analyzer and provides additional features not found in the basic
unit. This adds a PC board and DB-9 connector to the SWR Analyzer. The supplied Windows
program replicates the front panel and also shows a Control Panel with additional features.
TransTenna Nano is a software program to interface the Nano VNA. It provides a simplified
screen displaying the engineering units most useful for analyzing the data obtained using
the Nano VNA. These include series R and jX, reflection coefficient, SWR and more. A Smith chart
presentation is available and ranges of frequencies can be graphed.
Ham RF Tools is a set of calculators designed to be useful when making various types
of RF calculations. The basic math and equations come from the ARRL Handbook and are
supported with a user friendly graphical Interface.
